Nearly 666 hectares of lychees ripen in Baiyun
In Baiyun district, nearly 10,000 mu (666 hectares) of lychees, including late-maturing varieties such as osmanthus flavor and glutinous ball, are fully available on the market by the end of June.
In Banhu village, Zhongluotan town, over 100 mu of century-old lychee orchards, whose fruits are fuller and sweeter, are now at their peak picking season.
In the center of Banhu Park stands a nearly 320-year-old lychee tree. Despite past frost damage, it continues to bear fruit in small quantities after being protected and grafted.

This area serves as a lychee science popularization demonstration base in Baiyun district. Initially a pilot for transformation, it has introduced multiple high-quality varieties, now yielding an abundance of fruits.
The Baiyun agriculture and rural bureau performs precise testing to ensure the quality and safety of lychees by monitoring key indicators, including residues of conventional pesticides and banned and restricted chemicals.
As a traditional lychee-producing area in Guangzhou, Baiyun district boasts a planting history of approximately 200 years, offering lychees of excellent quality and taste.
