Top lotus exhibition blooms at Yunxi Botanical Garden
In mid-June, Yunxi Botanical Garden in Guangzhou welcomes a top-tier lotus exhibition. Approximately 150 varieties and 250 pots of lotus flowers are in full bloom in multiple viewing areas, making it Guangzhou's most diverse lotus exhibition.
The showcased varieties are diverse, including single-petal, semi-double-petal, double-petal, as well as rare double-stemmed and thousand-petal forms, covering a kaleidoscope of colors.

Varieties like "Space Red Flag" and "Sprinkling Golden Hibiscus" are particularly eye-catching, with the latter being the only variety with unique patterns on its leaves. Four new lotus varieties bred by local breeder Lu Weihua from Guangzhou and eight award-winning lotus varieties from national lotus exhibitions are also on display.
The garden dynamically adjusts the display at the main entrance according to the flowering periods of each variety, allowing visitors to admire nearly 100 pots of lotus flowers up close for free. Many visitors come to enjoy the lotus flowers and cool off in the summer heat, praising the beautiful blooms.
Lotus flowers bloom in the morning and close at night, so citizens and tourists are advised to visit before the end of August.
Yunxi Botanical Garden is located at No 1028 Baiyun Avenue South, Baiyun district, Guangzhou. It is accessible by Metro Line 2 or the soon-to-be-opened Line 12, as well as by bus.
