The drama, produced by Xi'an Theater, is adapted from the author Ma Boyong's "Jian Wei" series. Previously, tickets sold out within 10 minutes in cities like Shanghai and Beijing, creating an online frenzy. A TV drama adapted from the same novel is currently popular, and a movie adaptation is scheduled for release this summer.
The play faithfully reproduces the original work, showcasing how ordinary people maintain their integrity in the face of adversity. Inspired by the Tang Dynasty's (618-907) lychee transportation, it unveils the blood, sweat, and tears behind the greatest logistics system of the era, reflecting on the challenges of survival in the workplace both then and now.
The stage employs a matrix of LED light tubes to create a visual language, with actors simulating long-distance journeys with great intensity. Through multimedia projections and various sound effects, the play transforms this lychee transportation into a spectacle that spans time and space.
