Perennial Intl Hospital to be established in Baiyun
On May 26, Guangzhou Metro Group signed a lease contract of over 100,000 square meters with Singapore's Perennial Group, announcing the establishment of the first wholly foreign-owned tertiary comprehensive hospital in South China - Perennial International Hospital, which will be located in the southeast tower of Yuesheng Square at Guangzhou Baiyun Railway Station.
This marks a significant milestone as the Baiyun International Health and Elderly Care City in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, with a total investment of 5 billion yuan ($695.19 million), enters its main construction phase.
Perennial Group plans to build a 1.18-square-kilometer health and elderly care city in Baiyun district with an initial investment of 1 billion yuan to establish a wholly foreign-owned hospital, introducing top international medical teams and cutting-edge technologies.

Renovations are expected to commence in July 2025, and it has a projected annual service capacity of over 500,000 patients. This is expected to attract over 200 enterprises in Baiyun's biopharmaceutical and health industry chains – which would bring these industries past the billion-dollar mark.
The new hospital will fill the gap in high-end international health and elderly care services in South China. The innovative practice of combining strong transportation infrastructure with a strong health industry will provide a "Baiyun model" for industrial upgrading in super large cities.
