The Gaozeng Laohongrao Dragon Boat Team from Renhe town will participate in the Baiyun District Dragon Boat Open and the Guangzhou International Dragon Boat Invitational. They have intensified training at the Dragon Boat Base on the afternoon of May 11.

During the preparation period, the team will use two traditional dragon boats. Their goal in the upcoming city and district dragon boat races is to finish in the top 3. Villagers have raised over 200,000 yuan ($27,720) as incentive rewards.

Renhe town will host a Dragon Boat Free Race during the Dragon Boat Festival on May 27, May 29, and June 2, with Yahu Lake as the main venue. It is expected that 19 traditional dragon boats will participate. Other dragon boat teams are also undergoing intense training.

The Yahu Lake 12th Society Dragon Boat Team covers three villages, with 150-200 participants, mainly young and middle-aged. Team leader Cao Leixiong stated that although they are not competing, they still train according to competition standards, aiming to greet their fellow villagers in the best possible condition.
