On April 10, the Baiyun district people's government signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology. Meanwhile, Baiyun Investment Group and Hikvision also signed a cooperation framework agreement.

Both parties will achieve comprehensive strategic cooperation in smart transportation, urban operations, smart buildings, smart firefighting, smart communities, and industrial internet of things, establishing the Guangdong regional headquarters for smart transportation business.

They will collaborate deeply in creating national demonstration applications, establishing joint laboratories, enhancing corporate operations, attracting investment, and cultivating high-skilled talents in intelligent IoT and digital technology for Baiyun district. This aims to strengthen the regional industrial innovation foundation and build a demonstration model for industry transformation empowered by technology.

Baiyun, known for its innovative vitality in Guangzhou, saw its regional GDP surpassing 310 billion yuan ($42.22 billion) in 2024, with a growth rate of 5.2 percent, ranking second in Guangzhou. It has also been awarded the title of "China's Leading Smart City District" for five consecutive years.
