On Feb 17, a symposium for private enterprises was held in Beijing, expressing support for the development of the private economy.

As a pioneer in the private economy, Baiyun district in Guangzhou has seen its number of private enterprises exceed 350,000 by the end of 2024, accounting for over 95 percent of the total. Among them, there are over 6,500 enterprises in Guangzhou Private Science and Technology Park, with a total operating income of 220 billion yuan ($20.32 billion) in 2024, marking a 13.7 percent year-on-year increase.

In Baiyun, Guangdong's Institute of Laser Plasma Accelerator Technology and Guangdong Yuntao Hydrogen Technology Company are regarded as the key players in the laser plasma industry chain and hydrogen industry chain, respectively. The former has attracted high-level talents and collaborated with institutions like Peking University to establish a billion-dollar ecological industry park. The latter focuses on hydrogen energy technology innovation, having set up a large-scale hydrogen fuel cell production line and established the first hydrogen fuel cell industry innovation consortium with government support.

Additionally, Guangzhou Tongda Automotive Electrical Company is dedicated to commercial vehicle components and smart transportation solutions. It plans to increase investment in-vehicle networking technology research and development. It is expected to launch a demonstration operation of small unmanned logistics vehicles in the first half of this year.

Encouraged by the symposium, private entrepreneurs have expressed their commitment to contributing to the local high-quality development.
