The movie market in Baiyun district experienced a surge during Spring Festival. A total of 44 cinemas screened 12,299 films, attracting approximately 525,000 moviegoers and generating ticket sales of around 24.68 million yuan ($3.37 million), a year-on-year increase of about 29 percent.

At Baiyun Wanda Plaza, promotional posters for Spring Festival movies could be seen everywhere, and various discount activities attracted many citizens. The waiting hall of Baiyun Wanda Cinema was crowded with people buying tickets, popcorn and soda and waiting for the movie to start.

This year's Spring Festival movies, widely considered the strongest ever, covered genres such as fantasy, martial arts, and animation, igniting widespread enthusiasm for watching movies. Baiyun Wanda Cinema scheduled screenings based on market demand and introduced specialty products like movie IP derivatives, which were well received.

To meet people's movie-watching needs, Baiyun Wanda Plaza provided services such as free parking with ticket stubs. Meanwhile, the Kade Plaza · Yunshang Broadway Cinema also welcomed a large number of moviegoers, mainly young people and families.

As of Feb 6, the total box office revenue for new releases during the 2025 Spring Festival season had exceeded 11 billion yuan. Ne Zha 2 continues to lead the pack, becoming the box office champion of the season.
