Grand dragon, lion dance celebrations for Lantern Festival to be held in Baiyun

Baiyun district will organize a grand dragon and lion dance event during the Lantern Festival. The activities in Sanyuanli village and Tangxi Rural Credit Cooperative are particularly eye-catching.

The "Lantern Festival Celebration on the 18th Day of the First Month of the Chinese Calendar" in Sanyuanli village has continued for nearly 600 years. Every year on the 18th day of the first month of the Chinese Calendar, lion dance teams from dozens of neighboring villages across Guangdong province gather in Sanyuanli village to celebrate this traditional festival. This event is not only lively but also has profound historical and cultural connotations, serving as an important part of the inheritance of clan bloodlines.

Tangxi Rural Credit Cooperative holds a dragon and lion parade on the 19th day of the first month of the Chinese Calendar, featuring traditional lion dances and a unique colored dragon parade. The auspicious golden yellow and purple red dragons twist and turn in the air, creating a lively and festive atmosphere.

In addition, various towns, streets, villages, and communities in Baiyun have also planned a series of interesting Lantern Festival activities, including lion dances, lion dance parades through villages, and food culture experiences.

The arrival of the Lantern Festival fills Baiyun with joy and a festive atmosphere, allowing people to fully experience the unique charm of Cantonese culture through these traditional activities.
