Guangzhou International Port dispatched its first Sino-Europe freight train loaded with split-type air conditioners on Jan 29, bound for Russia.

During the Spring Festival holiday, the Sino-Europe freight train has continued its regular operations, transporting hardware, household goods, electrical appliances, clothing, shoes, hats, new energy vehicles, and other Guangdong-manufactured goods abroad to ensure the smooth and secure flow of the international supply chain and enrich the Spring Festival market supply.

In 2024, the Sino-Europe freight train introduced the innovative dual transport vehicle and dual port channel models, opening up new logistics channels for Guangdong-manufactured goods vehicles. The number of commercial vehicles shipped annually is 2,285.

Simultaneously, it expanded hub-to-hub domestic freight train services, Sino-Europe public train services, and end-to-end services from door to station, providing a more robust transportation model for exports from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

By the end of 2024, the Sino-Europe freight train had shipped a total of 56,420 standard containers, with a cargo weight of approximately 310,000 metric tons and a container cargo value of around 14.7 billion yuan ($2.01 billion).

In the future, the Sino-Europe freight train will continue to help Guangdong goods go global, developing new transportation models such as "train + cold chain", "train + cross-border e-commerce", and "multimodal transport".
