Guangdong province planned 1,500 key construction projects in 2025, with an annual investment of up to 1 trillion yuan ($136.69 billion) on Jan 15.

Guangzhou stood out with 199 projects selected as provincial key construction projects, with a total investment of 1,756.7 billion yuan, ranking first in the province in project quantity. These projects cover transportation infrastructure, agriculture, manufacturing, and healthcare.

Four projects have been selected in Baiyun district. The third-phase expansion of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is set to be completed and operational this year. Once finished, it will become the world's largest single airport, with an annual passenger capacity of 120 million and a cargo capacity of 3.8 million metric tons.
