It is estimated that during the pre-holiday peak period (Jan 14 to Jan 24), the daily average passenger flow will reach 8.75 million, while during the post-Spring Festival period (Feb 5 to Feb 22), the daily average passenger flow is expected to rise to 9.16 million.
The Spring Festival passenger flow mainly consists of migrant workers, students, family visits, and tourists, with overlapping effects leading to increased passenger volume compared to previous years.
To facilitate residents' travel, the Guangzhou Metro will implement multiple measures, including extending the operating hours of the network during different time slots, significantly extending operating hours during holidays to ensure smooth travel.

On New Year's Eve, the entire network will extend its operating hours by 1.5 hours. During peak periods of leaving and returning to Guangzhou, metro lines will extend their operating hours accordingly to meet passenger demand.
Additionally, the metro will increase express services at major stations during nighttime to provide more options for return passengers. Furthermore, each metro line will allocate backup vehicles as emergency operational reserves to ensure operational safety and smoothness.
As the Spring Festival approaches, the metro will introduce special services such as establishing a "Safe Spring Festival Guardian Team" to enhance passengers' travel experience.
