To showcase Lingnan culture, Metro Line 11 will feature five intangible cultural heritage (ICH) focus stations and 24 ICH standard stations. The five districts have selected Guangzhou East Railway Station, Guangzhou Railway Station, Fangcun Station, Pazhou Station, and the University of Chinese Medicine Station as the ICH focus stations.
As the first circular metro line in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Metro Line 11 will offer passengers experiences of Lingnan cuisine, culture, commerce, and attractions.
To showcase and promote ICH, each ICH focus station will feature cultural display windows, art display walls, light-emitting diode (LED) multimedia screens, and other types of displays.
Line 11 has selected representative ICH items such as Cantonese opera, Guangdong embroidery, Canton-glazed porcelain, Guangdong lion dance, Cantonese wood carving, and traditional Chinese medicine for integration and design at the focus stations.
This initiative will further enrich Guangzhou's cultural heritage, allowing passengers to experience the unique charm of Lingnan culture during their metro journeys.
