Major projects drive economic growth in Baiyun
Baiyun district is experiencing a surge in economic activity with the launch and completion of several significant projects. As the district enters the fourth quarter of 2024, efforts to boost the economy are in full swing.
On Oct 29, Baiyun celebrated the groundbreaking of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Agricultural Produce Trading Center, a project set to become a leading domestic agricultural hub.
Baiyun saw the commencement of 62 key projects with a total investment surpassing 100 billion yuan ($14.04 billion). These projects include the Guangzhou Xingfa Plaza Meiwan Phase II, which will create a new international beauty exhibition and sales platform. The Future City project, the largest outlet center in South China, promises a 190,000 square meter space for fashion shopping, dining, and entertainment.
The Jinsha Street Meta Creation Center project reached full completion on Oct 11, featuring eight modern high-rise buildings and a 150-meter landmark tower. The SAAN SEOI LAP FONG, a trendy nightlife street block, officially opened on Sept 13, offering a 25,000 square meter space for dining, entertainment, and sports.
The Huawei Guangzhou Research and Development Center will focus on smart cars, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things. The Star World - Nanhu Amusement Park will reopen in January 2025, offering immersive sci-fi experiences and interactive designs.
