Guangdong Baiyun University to expand campus and increase enrollment
Guangdong Baiyun University has received approval to expand its North Campus from the Guangzhou People's Government, which will make the university 66-percent larger.
Founded in 1989 and approved by the Ministry of Education in 2005 as a non-profit, full-time private undergraduate institution, Guangdong Baiyun University has consistently ranked first among the "Top 10 Most Competitive Private Universities in Guangdong Province" by the Guangdong Academy of Social Sciences for the past 12 years straight. The university currently has two campuses, West Campus and North Campus, located in Jianggao town and Zhongluotan town, respectively, with approximately 32,000 students enrolled.
The expansion will add 270,000 square meters of building area to the North Campus, increasing the total from 405,100 sq m to 675,700 sq m. This development will enable the university to admit an additional 2,000 students, as approved by the Department of Education of Guangdong province. The plot ratio of the campus will rise from 1.2 to 2.04, supporting the development of high-level applied universities.
This approved plan adjustment will provide the necessary support and assurance for Guangdong Baiyun University to meet its enrollment expansion needs and enhance its educational infrastructure.
