Recently, mulberries in Baiyun district have entered their maturity, allowing a number of local mulberry planting bases to offer free mulberry picking services lasting until May.

Located in Datian village, Jianggao town, Runtu Picking Garden is an orchard that boasts a diverse range of mulberry varieties. Among them are the black pearl-like Changguo mulberry and the golden-colored Xiangjin mulberry. Many families visit the orchard for mulberry picking whenever they are ripe. One of the orchard's visitors surnamed Tan, shared his happiness and said, "The orchard produces good and natural fruits, and my family and I come here every year for the joyful experience of free picking, instant tasting, and learning the growth pattern of the mulberry. There is a lot of fun to be had here."

According to Xie Yandong, a principal of the orchard, the ripening period of the mulberry is about a week earlier than in previous years as the recent weather brings more warmth and humidity. For safe and high-quality fruits, the orchard has been adopting pollution-free cultivation techniques with proper use of pesticides.

Visitors who are interested in a mulberry picking experience may consider a trip to Guodu Farm, located in Longgang village, Zhongluotan town. The picking period at this location continues until early April. Another recommended option is the Runtu Picking Garden, which offers Xiangjin mulberry picking until May
