Baiyun's cultural tourism industry surges in recent years

Guangzhou's Baiyun district has established a demonstration zone to develop the district's cultural tourism industry. To date, its major cultural tourism projects have received an investment of about 360 million yuan ($50 million).
The Nanhu Amusement Park, also known as a metaverse sci-fi theme park, is expected to be completed by the end of 2024. The park integrates immersive entertainment, e-sports, light and shadow night travel, and science and technology research.
More than 40 cultural tourism projects have been implemented around Baiyun Lake such as lakeside camping sites. Additionally, Baiyun Lake Park has hosted over 20 activities and introduced new attractions, the China Stand-up Paddleboard Open, the Dragon Boat Culture Festival, and parent-child concerts.
Constructions on the Liupian Mountain Forest Park, Lingnan Traditional Chinese Medicine Museum, Sanyuanli Cultural Block have been accelerated. The preliminary work for the construction of Baiyun Painting and Calligraphy Museum is being steadily advanced.

Baiyun's performing arts market performs well over the past year, with highlights being the 16th China International Comics Festival, 20th China Animation Golden Dragon Awards Conference, and 2023 Guangzhou Strawberry Music Festival. More than 50 concert venues have been held in the Guangzhou Gymnasium, located in the district, enhancing the popularity and influence of Baiyun's music culture.
