In recent years, Guangzhou's Baiyun district has focused on building a modern agricultural demonstration zone. The district also makes efforts to construct a 100 billion-level ($14 billion-level) agriculture industrial cluster, which has achieved fruitful results.    

Several high-quality agricultural projects have been under construction in the district with a total investment of more than 30 billion yuan in the past two years.

The total output value of Baiyun's agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fishery in the first three quarters of 2023 increased by 7.1 percent year-on-year.

Currently, the district has 75 leading agricultural enterprises above the district level at present. Among them, four enterprises are State-level, 25 are provincial, and 64 are city-level.

On Nov 20, 2023, Academician Liu Shaojun's studio and researcher Zhou Shaochuan's studio settled in Baiyun. They planned to establish a fish-rice symbiosis system and an original rice center project, promoting ecological planting in the district.

On Nov 21, Baiyun signed a cooperation framework agreement with the team of Fu Tingdong, an academician in the agriculture industry. Results of the scientific research of Fu's rapeseed team will be promoted based on local research in southern Guangdong.
