On May 16, a summit was held in Baiyun to strengthen the partnership between the district and Huawei, a world-renowned provider of information and communication solutions.

At the summit, the district signed cooperation agreements with Huawei Technologies and Huawei Cloud Computing Technology, so as to inject new impetus into the district's high-quality development of digital economy.

Since 2017, Baiyun and Huawei have developed a comprehensive strategic partnership.

In 2020, Huawei decided to establish its first research and development center in the district. Currently all the center's eight R&D buildings have been capped off and are expected to start operation by the end of September next year.

The presence of tech leaders like Huawei has attracted over 14,000 IT companies to settle in Baiyun, enabling the district's new-generation information technology sector to achieve a scale of over 10 billion yuan ($1 billion).
