The first shield tunnel to run through the dual lines of the Guangzhou-Foshan East Ring Intercity Railway was recently completed, local media reported on March 22.

Constructed by China Railway Tunnel Group, the 46.7-kilometer railway is located in the middle of the Pearl River Delta Region and Guangzhou's urban area.

This line will start from Guangzhou South Railway Station, pass through Panyu, Haizhu, Tianhe and Baiyun districts, and then connect to Zhuliao Station, which is part of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Intercity Railway.

Once completed, there will be eight stations along the line, including Dashi, Pazhou, Longdong, Dayuan, and Taihe stations.
