Detailed plan for Guangzhou Private Sci-tech Park issued
The Guangzhou Private Science and Technology Park, which accounts for half of the industrial output value of Baiyun district, will enter the development stage of capacity expansion and quality improvement, local media outlets reported on Feb 16.
The park plans to increase construction volume by about 1.46 to 2.77 million square meters and add four metro lines and two tram lines in the area.
It will focus on Taihe Station and carry out transit-oriented development (TOD) to create an urban comprehensive service center with residential and educational facilities.
The park's core area will strive to enable the number and output value of its high-tech enterprises to multiply within five years. It will also build an industrial "headquarters + advanced manufacturing" system in the core area to improve the land conservation and intensive use.
To date, the park is home to more than 5,200 private enterprises, with a land area of 38 sqm. The park aims to develop into a national private economic reform and innovation pilot zone and a united front work demonstration base for the domestic private sector.
