Jiangcun Bridge has been transformed from its old structure and recently entered the final deck construction stage after the completion of the last concrete pouring on Sept 28.

The old bridge's main body was demolished and construction crews started rebuilding the new structure in January 2021. After more than one year of efforts, the project's overall progress is 90 percent complete and is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

With a designated speed of 50 kilometers per hour, the new bridge is 201 meters long and 26.5 meters wide. It is designed to have a continuous rigid frame with a main span of 70 meters. In addition, the bridge has four standard two-way lanes and two reserved lanes.

Upon completion, it will connect Xiahua No 3 Road in the north, Xiahua No 2 Road and Lianjiao Road in the south to effectively relieve the traffic pressure on the Jiangcun Bridge on Guanghua No 2 Road.

The new bridge will also improve the area's traffic safety level and the river channel service, as well as provide more rapid and convenient traveling for the residents in Jianggao town and Baiyun Lake street.
