A new virtual laboratory (VLAB) that used as a maker space for the biomedical industry was inaugurated in Guangzhou's Baiyun district on Sept 24.

Covering an area of more than 1,300 square meters, the new VLAB provides facilities including shared office areas, shared tea bars, roadshow centers as well as over 200 cubicles for enterprises to receive services such as investment consultations, bank technology loans and industry research findings.

The VLAB is designed to be an innovation and entrepreneurship incubation service base that caters to the medical and health industry.

It plans to gather talents from medical science and technology sectors to help Baiyun build a new highland for the innovation and development of the modern health industry based on professional team operations.

By 2021, Guangzhou incubated more than 400 science and technology enterprises, more than 300 maker spaces, and more than 12,000 projects.
