Baiyun announces two urban renewal projects

Guangzhou government recently announced the approval of Baiyun's two urban renewal projects of the Huangbian area and the Wulonggang area, local media outlets reported on Sept 16.

Located in the Design Capital of Guangzhou, Huangbian village enjoys superb traffic conditions and has adopted a reduction plan for further development.

The project plans to establish 203 high-standard residential and industrial public service facilities such as schools, municipal facilities, and green spaces, effectively improving residential communities and living standards.

In addition, the project is expected to strictly protect the area's two registered cultural relics and four historic buildings.

The area's green space and woodlands have been sectioned off as parkland and additional green space. Existing resources of ancient trees will be reserved.

The Wulonggang village transformation project plans to roll out more than 200 public service facilities, including schools, public libraries, and electrical substations, to improve citizens' living standards, accounting for 12.32 percent of the residential construction.

The project will also strictly enforce the protective measures of preserving history, culture, and trees, protecting four registered cultural relics, two historical buildings, one endorsed conserved building, two ancient trees, and five ancient trees' under continued perseveration.
