Local media outlets reported on July 4 that the Baiyun campus of the Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital is currently in the spotlight for its environmental impact assessment assessment.
The hospital has a floor area of 250,000 square meters and is rated 3A, the highest possible rating under China's three-tier grading system for public hospitals. It costs 3.2 billion yuan ($477.56 million) to build.
The Pearl River and Baiyun Mountain, two prominent Lingnan features, are incorporated into the hospital's overall futuristic and technologically advanced design throughout the facility.
It has an outpatient building with five floors, a medical technology building with five floors, and four tower buildings with eight to 10 floors each. Once the hospital is up and running, it will be able to accommodate 2,400 patients in its outpatient departments and provide 800 patient beds. There are 2,616 parking spaces available in total.
The Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital, which was established in 1946, is the largest comprehensive hospital in Guangdong province and one of the most prominent hospitals in China.
