Baiyun Library is located at No 1211 Yuncheng West Road, a bustling area with the largest population flow in Baiyun district of Guangzhou, Guangdong province. It boasts convenient transportation, a scenic environment and a cozy atmosphere.

With a floor area of 6,080 square meters, the library has four departments: acquisition and cataloguing, technical guidance, public services and administrative affairs.

The department of public services is equipped with eight service windows, which are readers’ cards handling and consultation room, book borrowing room for adults, children's reading room, newspapers and periodicals reading room, digital reading room, reading room for the visually impaired, local bibliographies and reference books room and self-study room.

With a total of more than 510 seats, the library provides readers with a quiet, comfortable and bright learning environment and abundant varieties of books free of charge. It is also installed with small-sized meeting rooms for conferences and lectures.

Baiyun Library has about 300,000 volumes of collections in four branches and 28 grass-roots reading rooms under the jurisdiction of Baiyun district. It has subscriptions to more than 600 newspapers, periodicals and magazines. The library’s investment reached 1.09 million yuan ($171,302.87) in 2008, providing a strong guarantee for further development.
