The Guangzhou Airport Economic Demonstration Zone has a total planning area of 135.5 square kilometers, with 75.5 square kilometers located in Baiyun district. It is situated 17 km from Guangzhou North Railway Station, 20 km from Baiyun Railway Station, 40 km from Guangzhou South Railway Station, 27 km from Guangzhou East Railway Station, 6 km from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and 24.5 km from Guangzhou Railway Station.

The zone focuses on the development of headquarters economy, aviation maintenance and manufacturing, aviation logistics, aviation finance, innovative technology, cross-border e-commerce and biomedicine.

It has attracted major enterprises in the fields of aviation and logistics such as Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport Co., Ltd., China Southern Air Holding Company, ST Aerospace (Guangzhou) Aviation Services Co. Ltd., 9 Air, Skyperal Digital Technology, VIPS Logistics and STO Express Co., Ltd.
