The Cameroon Investment and Trade Cooperation Promotion Exchange was held at the Guangdong Medical Valley Nansha Industry Incubator on February 27, 2025, aiming to enhance economic collaboration between China and Cameroon, and facilitate precise alignment of industrial resources.
Five mayors from the United Councils and Cities of Cameroon (UCCC) were invited to deliver special speeches. They presented investment opportunities in various sectors, including but not limited to agricultural modernization, new energy, infrastructure, digital economy, industrial park development, and eco-cultural tourism, aligning with the development plans and project needs of local governments in Cameroon. The event also included B2B industry matchmaking sessions to meet the cooperation demands of both countries in related fields.
Additionally, the Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Nansha District organized a pre-conference visit for Mr. Augustin Tamba, Chairman of UCCC and Mayor of Yaoundé 7, Cameroon, and his delegation of mayors. They toured the Planning Exhibition Hall of Nansha New Area and the Nansha Mingzhu Agricultural Park for research and inspection.
It is known that UCCC is the highest joint organization of municipalities in Cameroon, comprising 360 municipalities and 14 city communities. The organization is dedicated to promoting local development through governance and economic activities, aiming to advance decentralization in Cameroon, strengthen local economies, enhance institutional capacity, and improve local governance.
Mr. Augustin, on behalf of UCCC, extended an invitation to all the participants to attend the Council's International Economic Forum (Jeicom25), which will be held from June 2 to 4, 2025 at the Yaoundé Conference Center. The forum aims to promote win-win development in economic cooperation between China and Cameroon, as well as in international economic cooperation.
Themed "Implementing Partnerships and Advancing Regional Project Execution," this forum is expected to attract participants from Cameroon's 360 councils and 14 city councils, domestic and international investors, investment funds, relevant international enterprises, and other economic partners.
