Foreign tourists engage in cultural experiences.

Guangzhou has welcomed international guests from 18 cities of 17 countries for a visit from Feb 10 to 15. The event is designed to offer foreign visitors a firsthand experience of Chinese New Year customs and the distinctive allure of Lingnan culture, highlighting the warmth and hospitality of Guangzhou.

During their visit, guests engaged in activities such as writing Spring Festival couplets, painting Cantonese opera facial makeup, and sampling traditional Cantonese snacks. At the welcome banquet on the first day of the journey, the diverse activities and traditional cuisine allowed the international guests to immerse themselves in the authentic festive atmosphere of Guangzhou.

On the morning of their arrival in Guangzhou, Alvise from Italy and his family embarked on a city walk, and found themselves captivated by the city's charm. Alvise, impressed by the cleanliness and convenience of Guangzhou's public transportation system, remarked, it's incredibly tidy and convenient, taking them anywhere they need to go. Throughout the day, they had fun exploring Guangzhou Zoo and have plans to visit various cultural venues in the city.

Data indicates that during the Chinese New Year holiday, Guangzhou welcomed 46,000 international tourists, while Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport saw over 310,000 international passengers, reflecting a notable 16.6 percent increase. Furthermore, more than 2,550 travelers took advantage of the 240-hour visa-free policy during this period.

This event in Guangzhou takes advantage of the Spring Festival international tourism boom, combining with the Lantern Festival to create an international tourism activity that further strengthens Guangzhou's image as the "Southern Gateway" of China.

The city adopts a warm and hospitable attitude towards tourists from all corners of the globe, underscoring its openness. Through such events, Guangzhou aims to offer international tourists more enriching, immersive, and delightful cultural tourism experiences.
