On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia, Guangzhou warmly received a delegation of journalists from sister city Yekaterinburg. On Nov 18, a media delegation of 10 representatives visited Guangzhou.
The visitors toured the Fushan Circular Economy Industrial Park, gaining insights into Guangzhou's endeavors in sustainable development and its successes in cultivating new productive forces.
After that, they visited Yuntai Garden, a significant symbol of friendship between the two cities.
On July 10, 2002, Guangzhou and Yekaterinburg became international sister cities. Since then, they've cultivated strong and intimate connections, resulting in fruitful cooperation in the fields of commerce and trade, culture and education.
"This entire journey has truly broadened my horizons," said Maria Kartus, general manager of Russian news agency TASS.
"The Fushan Circular Economy Industrial Park made a profound impact on me, both in terms of waste processing volume and the innovative technologies utilized," she said. "I'm keen to delve deeper into research in this field. "
Kartus revealed plans to produce a series of in-depth reports on her return, offering a comprehensive insight into cities like Guangzhou in China.
Kartus also expressed her eagerness to bolster collaboration with the Chinese media – inviting more media partners to explore Russia, including participating in industrial exhibitions in Yekaterinburg.
She added that her goal was to leverage the influence of the professional media to bolster cooperation between the two nations in the industrial and tourism sectors.
