The 2024 China-Cyprus Youth Exchange Week and the 3rd China-Cyprus Youth Forum were held in Cyprus from Oct 22 to 25.

More than 60 exceptional young people from the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region and Chinese sister cities within the China-Cyprus alliance, such as Nanjing, Qingdao, Ningbo, Guangzhou, Xi'an, Fuzhou, Weinan, and Yichang, alongside youth delegates from various Cypriot political parties, took part in the event.

The young people took part in deep discussions on cultural exchange, digital transformation, and green development, while the Chinese delegation visited the Cypriot parliament, universities, local communities, and businesses to foster collaboration.

At the event, a young representative of Guangzhou Environmental Protection Investment Group took part in the green development forum, showcasing the city's strides in sustainable development. Recognizing their efforts, the Chinese Embassy in Cyprus presented them with a commemorative medal for Guangzhou. This individual also interacted with and learned from young representatives of the China-Cyprus alliance, fostering mutual exchanges.

The event took place under the auspices of the China-Cyprus strategic partnership and the sister city alliance. Launched on Sept 26, 2023, the China-Cyprus sister city alliance, spearheaded by the Chinese Embassy in Cyprus, seeks to establish a framework for city exchanges. By leveraging the combined potential of sister city cooperation clusters, the alliance aims to propel China-Cyprus relations to unprecedented levels.
