The 2024 Belt and Road Diplomats' Cycling Series is held in Zengcheng district, Guangzhou.

The Belt and Road Diplomats' Cycling Series 2024 took place in Zengcheng district, Guangzhou on Nov 3, gathering over 1,000 participants including business representatives, and students in China, and ambassadors from nearly 40 countries such as Thailand, Australia, and Pakistan.

The event, featuring competitive cycling races and leisure rides, was aimed to use cycling as a means of strengthening sports exchanges and cooperation between Guangzhou and BRI countries and regions  as the beginning of the one-year countdown to the opening of the 15th National Games.

The event featured competitive cycling races and leisure rides, with over 1,000 participants, including ambassadors from nearly 40 countries such as Thailand, Australia, and Pakistan.

Olympic track cycling champion Zhong Tianshi attended the event as a special guest to show her support. "It's my first time in Zengcheng, and I found the roads here very conducive to cycling," she said. "The event highlights the increasing popularity of cycling and the rising level of competition. Whether its athletes with professional gear or just regular people, everyone can join anytime, anywhere".

The route for the leisure ride activity is approximately 30 kilometers long, passing through scenic spots such as Hezhizhou Wetland Park and Lihu Park.

"We love cycling because it allows us to explore distant locations and enjoy diverse landscapes. Zengcheng district is stunning, and the locals are incredibly welcoming. It's a fantastic experience," exclaimed a 23-year-old cyclist from Yemen. Currently pursuing studies at Beijing Normal University in Zhuhai, he expressed excitement at the chance to represent the school in the competition. "I look forward to returning in the future and aspire to work and establish a business here!"
