The two-day 13th Guangzhou Friendship Games concluded on Oct 27. In the Hong Kong Jockey Club Cup basketball game, teams from South China University of Technology, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Sun Yat-sen University, and Southern Medical University won the first, second, third, and fourth places, respectively, in the men's B group. 

The Guangzhou Friendship Games aim to further strengthen the friendship between Chinese people and international visitors and enhance mutual understanding and respect while showcasing the charm of Guangzhou. After the games, two international students at Southern Medical University shared their feelings about and experiences in Guangzhou.

Derji de Swardt from South Africa and Abiona Modupe Mary from Nigeria both participated in the event for the first time. Derji, who likes playing football, has a soft spot for the food in Guangzhou. "I love Xiaobei, the food in Xiaobei is the best," he says. Both Derji and Abiona also think highly of the city's sports facilities and environment. Abiona, in particular, said she appreciates the parks in Guangzhou. "Parks are everywhere in Guangzhou, making it easy to play sports. I think this is great, because we don't have these kinds of parks in my country," she said.
