The 13th Guangzhou Friendship Games commenced at the Guangzhou Tianhe Sports Center on Oct 26 and Hong Kong athlete Vivian Kong Man Wai, who has risen to instant fame following her gold medal in the women's individual epee event at the Paris Olympics, made her appearance at the games's opening ceremony.

Kong conveyed her anticipation for the 15th National Games set to take place in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. "I am extremely confident that the 15th National Games will be spectacular!" she exclaimed.

Looking forward to the 15th National Games next year, Kong remarked, "The National Games are the most extensive sporting event in China, with athletes eagerly anticipating the fantastic ambiance. Each city is meticulously preparing for the occasion. I am thrilled that Hong Kong will co-host the National Games alongside the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. I eagerly anticipate the event and am confident that it will proceed smoothly."
