Yuexiu district recently launched a vibrant Mid-Autumn carnival, complete with outdoor games, an ancient-style market, and captivating traditional Chinese performances that delighted visitors on Beijing Road.

The carnival revolves around Cantonese culture, with a standout attraction being the "Shopkeeper Challenge". Drawing inspiration from the beloved board game Monopoly, this challenge seamlessly blends ancient-style gaming environments at venues like Beijing Road and Xihu Road Square. Participants will partake in activities such as investing in shops and strategic planning, putting their intelligence and decision-making abilities to the test while immersing themselves in the delight of ancient merchants.

Moreover, the event offers visitors opportunities to try their hands at traditional embroidery and making lacquer fans, enabling them to appreciate the distinctive allure of Cantonese culture through these intangible cultural heritage items.

As an integral part of the event, the ancient-style market will bring to life the ambiance of an ancient marketplace, showcasing exquisite handicrafts and snacks. During the event, visitors will have the opportunity to participate in ancient games like Cuju (ancient football), pot-throwing, and the "Animal Gathering" game, offering a firsthand experience of leisure and entertainment activities in ancient times.

What's more, traditional Chinese cultural performances are expected to be spectacular, featuring dances and traditional instruments like the bamboo flute and guzheng. These performances will offer audiences a delightful experience, combining visual and auditory pleasures in a captivating display of ancient Chinese culture.

Moving forward, Beijing Road will continue to host a variety of interactive and experiential cultural and tourism-themed events. The goal is to enrich visitor experiences and boost consumption in commercial districts, ultimately contributing to the high-quality development of Guangzhou.
