Guo Yonghang, Party secretary of Guangzhou, led a delegation to further deepen exchanges and cooperation with Japan from Sept 8 to 11, contributing to the comprehensive advancement of strategic relations between China and Japan.
During the visit, Guo and his delegation met with the Chinese Ambassador to Japan, Wu Jianghao, to thank the Embassy for its guidance and support for Guangzhou's initiatives. They also discussed strategies to enhance cooperation between Guangzhou and Japan.
In addition, they engaged in discussions with enterprise representatives, including Honda Research Institute president Toshihiro Mibu and Toyota president Tsuneyoshi Sato, to explore opportunities for industrial transformation, consumer upgrading, and innovation acceleration. They focused on aligning with trends in digitalization, intelligence, and green development, and engaged in in-depth exchanges to enhance and broaden cooperation in the automotive industry.
During the discussion, Guo explained the economic and social development of Guangzhou, highlighting the city's efforts to create a top-tier business environment. Guangzhou is currently in the process of establishing a high-level open economic system to facilitate investment and development opportunities for global enterprises within the city.
Guangzhou has nurtured a longstanding cooperative relationship with Japan, yielding fruitful outcomes. There is reason to believe that both sides will honor the important consensus of their leaders, capitalize on their respective strengths, and proactively broaden cooperation across a diverse array of sectors, including trade and investment, scientific and technological innovation, and cultural tourism. By fostering cooperation in industrial and supply chain connectivity, they aim to forge a new era of mutually beneficial development.
