Guo Yonghang, Party secretary of Guangzhou, led a delegation from Guangzhou to visit Saudi Arabia from Sept 4 to 7 local time. During the visit, discussions and negotiations were held with relevant Saudi government departments and enterprises to promote friendly exchanges, deepen economic and trade cooperation, and contribute to the implementation of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Saudi Arabia.
During the visit, the delegation held discussions with Prince Dr Abdulaziz Bin Ayyaf, mayor of Riyadh Region, and Saudi Deputy Minister of Investment Saleh Habti, and witnessed the signing of cooperation agreements between relevant institutions and companies from Guangzhou and Saudi Arabia.
During the discussions, Guo briefed the economic and social development of Guangzhou. He said that in recent years, the partnership between China and Saudi Arabia has led to closer cooperation and exchanges between the two countries and that there is significant potential for further deepening cooperation.
Guangzhou will diligently implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of both countries, seizing opportunities by aligning the high-quality construction of the Belt and Road Initiative with Saudi Arabia's "Vision 2030".
The city aims to accelerate the development of the Chinese industrial cluster in Jazan Economic City, taking into account the needs and capabilities of both sides. This cooperation will prioritize enhancing exchanges and collaboration in infrastructure, trade and economy, energy, logistics, technology, culture, smart cities. Additionally, it will support businesses in expanding bilateral investments, with the goal of achieving mutually beneficial development to higher quality and standards.
