Underwater hockey is a team sport played on the floor of a pool, blending elements of swimming, snorkeling, and hockey. It is both fun and highly competitive.
At the recently-concluded 2024 Asian Underwater Hockey Cup (AUHC) U19 final, the Chinese team, which included Guangzhou junior high school graduate Liu Kaiqi, secured a major victory by defeating teams from Singapore, Malaysia, and the United Arab Emirates.
During the ninth-grade winter break, Liu was chosen to represent the national team. Following the conclusion of the Guangzhou middle school entrance examination, he participated in the 2024 AUHC organized by CMAS (World Underwater Federation).
At the 2024 AUHC, the Chinese team competed in eight matches, emerging victorious in each with commanding leads. Liu Kaiqi and his teammates ultimately claimed the championship title.
