On July 27, a media delegation of 7 members from Pakistan paid a visit to Guangzhou. The delegation first made their way to the Guangzhou Metro Museum and experienced Metro Line 18.

"Guangzhou is a beautiful city. We are very happy and delighted to be here," said Amir Mir, CEO of Googly News, as well as Former Punjab Caretaker Minister for Information & Culture.

Although heavy rain hit Guangzhou, members of the delegation showed interest in the development of the Guangzhou Metro.

"I've never seen a metro museum anywhere. The Museum showcases all the work and development of Guangzhou Metro in a digitalized way," said Shiraz Hasnat, Senior Vice President of Lahore Press Club and Bureau Chief of HUM News Lahore.

He indicated that the museum opens a door for children to learn and fall in love with the metro while games about the knowledge of building the metro.

"It's tremendously wonderful," said Muhammad Azam Rashid, Senior political correspondent of Geo TV and Former adviser to Punjab Government while traveling to Panyu Square on Guangzhou Metro Line 18.

Guangzhou Metro Line 18 runs from Haizhun District to Panyu District with a maximum designed speed of 160 km per hour, which is regarded as the fastest train in China.

The train will be further extended to Zhongshan and Zhuhai.

"I traveled on the orange line, but this metro train is tremendously speedy and it feels like I'm on a plane," said Muhammad Azam Rashid.

In 2020, Pakistan launched its first metro line in the city of Lahore. As an early harvest project under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the Orange Line is operated by Guangzhou Metro Group.

It is estimated that during the operation and maintenance period, it will create 2,000 jobs for locals.

"The orange line is one of the biggest miracles we have seen," said Shiraz Hasnat. He indicated that citizens of Lahore can reach downtown in 20 or 25 minutes instead of an hour by driving a car.

"Firstly, it is cheap, and secondly, it is very convenient. If you want to go downtown, the orange line is one of the best options," he stressed.

As one of the most important partners of the Belt and Road Initiative, Pakistan and China launched the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in 2015. Shiraz Hasnat introduced that much progress, including the Orange Line, has been completed and he believes that the relationship between the two countries will be stronger when the CPEC is finished.

"The Pakistani authorities have made arrangements to ensure the progress of the CPEC project can be launched smoothly, and I think the future of cooperation with China is much brighter," Amir Mir stressed.
