A joint media delegation from mainstream Sri Lankan outlets visited Guangzhou from Jan 9 to 11, exploring the city's high-tech industrial areas and cultural and artistic facilities and experiencing Guangzhou's dynamic development and cultural charm.

In addition, the delegation engaged in in-depth discussions with the foreign affairs office of the people's government of Guangzhou municipality and the Guangzhou Press Group on topics such as strengthening media cooperation and economic and trade exchanges. This visit further deepened the friendly relations between Guangzhou and Sri Lanka, particularly regarding city cooperation with Hambantota.
