The finalists of the sixth edition of the Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation, commonly known as the "Guangzhou Award," began presenting their projects online on Nov 6.

Representatives from 15 shortlisted cities worldwide will showcase their innovative projects in four categories: resilience, people's livelihood, intelligence, and social inclusion.

This event is not only a competition but also a platform for exchanging experiences aimed at fostering innovative urban governance and advancing the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.

The initial session of the defense meeting, held on Nov 6, focused on innovative projects for urban resilience, with representatives from Xianning, China; Kazan, Russia; Tehran, Iran; and Cape Town, South Africa sharing their insights.

Subsequent defense meetings will take place from Dec 7 to 9, during which the public can vote online for their favorite city in the "City of Your Choice" category.

The Guangzhou Award, a platform for global urban governance exchanges, has attracted participation from over 1,600 innovative urban case studies worldwide, highlighting China's leadership in this field.
