Guangzhou Mayor Guo Yonghang met with Kazan's mayor in Russia, Ilsur Metshin and his delegation on Sept 14 to discuss further deepening cooperation between the two cities in areas such as trade, tourism, sports, and culture.

Since becoming Friendship Cities in 2012, Guangzhou and Kazan have established a firm foundation and a positive momentum for collaboration. Guo expressed his hope that the two cities will continue to foster exchanges and cooperation in various fields, striving for a higher level of mutual benefit and win-win results.

Metshin expressed his gratitude for Guangzhou's support in Kazan's socioeconomic development and hoped that the two sides would deepen collaboration in fields such as sports, science, education, and youth development.

Both parties also discussed further promoting smart city exchanges between Kazana and Guangzhou's Huangpu district during the visit.
