What does technological innovation bring to mankind? Where does the spirit of innovation come from? How to cultivate our own sense of innovation?

On August 20, the exhibition, Israeli Discoveries and Developments that Influenced the World, was opened at the Guangzhou Library, displaying 24 examples of Israel's pioneering discoveries and innovations. And it will be on display until September 20 at the Multicultural Hall of the Guangzhou Library.

On the opening day, Inbal Arieli, a famous Israeli entrepreneur and writer, Alex Goldman Shayman, Consul General of Israel in Guangzhou, and Fu Xixi, Vice President of Guangdong Economic and Technological Development Research Association, visited the library and gave a lecture to readers. They interpreted the origin of Israel's "innovation gene" and discussed the similarities and differences of innovative cultures between China and Israel.

Arieli gave two key words about innovation during the lecture - "Chutzpah" and "Balagan". "Chutzpah" means boldness, self-confidence, and fearlessness of authority, while "Balagan" refers to a state of chaos. In the Barragan system, it is not advocated to strictly abide by various behaviors and rules, but to highlight uncertainty and focus on cultivating the ability to copy with the unknown.

The two terms, in Arieli's view, are the symbol of Israelis' character and the source of their innovative spirit.

Fu also shared her views on the innovation models and paths of the two countries. She said over the past 10 years, China had a large number of innovative business models and application scenarios.

"If we can combine Israel's technological innovation with the application scenarios of the Chinese market, it will be a good path for cooperation," Fu believes.

On behalf of the Consulate General of Israel in Guangzhou, Alex Goldman Shayman presented 22 Israeli books to the Guangzhou Library. Chutzpah, a new book by Arieli, can also be borrowed on the fifth floor of the North Building of the library.
