The foreign affairs office of the people's government of Guangzhou municipality held a Chinese language exchange-themed salon at Baifu Square on June 16.

This event was timed to coincide with the Dragon Boat Festival, a traditional Chinese holiday, to enhance cross-cultural exchanges.

It attracted nearly 20 staff members from seven consulates across Guangzhou. In a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere, they learned about the origins, customs, and meanings of the Dragon Boat Festival through cultural teachings and fun interactions.

Attendees also got to make zongzi (traditional glutinous rice dumplings) and mugwort bundles at the event, which allowed them to enjoy a unique Chinese cultural exchange experience.

This themed salon not only allowed foreign friends in Guangzhou to learn about the charm of the Chinese language and heighten their interest in learning Chinese, but it also deepened their understanding of traditional Chinese culture.
