Tu Hongzhe, a leader of the foreign affairs office of the Guangzhou municipal government, accompanied Otabek Valiev, consul-general of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Guangzhou, on a visit to Guangzhou First People's Hospital on Feb 7.

Ying Yi, vice president of Guangzhou First People's Hospital, gave a detailed introduction to the hospital's rich history, as well as its impressive achievements in scientific and clinical fields to the consul-general and his delegation.

Valiev expressed his hope that Guangzhou and Uzbekistan will further strengthen more practical and higher-level exchanges and cooperation in the field of medicine and health care. He cited Guangzhou First People's Hospital and the First Affiliated Hospital of Samarkand State Medical University of the Republic of Uzbekistan developing friendly exchanges and cooperative relations as an example.

Members of the Guangzhou municipal health commission and the Guangdong-CIS international technological cooperation union also participated in the event.
