On February 5, this year's Lantern Festival, the 2023 Nansha Immersive New Year Dance Party themed "One Dream for All in the GBA" was held in Nansha Cultural Center. The event was co-organized by Nansha Foreign Affairs Office, Nansha District Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sport, and Nansha Subdistrict Office.
As one of the Nansha international community activities, the party attracted over 150 Chinese and foreign participants. They are from 18 countries and regions, including Poland, Germany, Russia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Cameroon, Mauritius, Madagascar, Malaysia, the United States, Japan, Uzbekistan, New Zealand, Yemen, India, as well as Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions of China.
The festive event was highlighted by a wonderful combination of traditional and modern cultures, as well as Chinese and foreign cultures. Local and foreign residents took turns to show their talents in diverse programs, such as lion dance, classical dance, hip-hop dance, singing, and recitation. Everyone enjoyed themselves at the joyous party.
The event consisted of a photo section, intangible cultural heritage exhibitions, traditional Chinese games booths, and a Chinese tea break area. Participants immersed themselves in the charm of Chinese culture by wearing Hanfu, guessing lantern riddles, tossing copper coins, playing pitch-pot, and enjoying refreshments.
The New Year dance party promoted communication and interaction between Chinese and foreign residents, and enhanced their sense of belonging and happiness. It contributed to building a harmonious community and was widely acclaimed by both the locals and expats.
