The general election meeting of the Guangzhou Institute for Urban Innovation (GIUI) and the workshop on the Urban Innovation Assessment System were held in Guangzhou on Jan 12. About 40 people attended the meeting, including Deng Changxiong, deputy director of the foreign affairs office of the Guangzhou municipal government.
Kuang Changping was elected as the new GIUI president, while 17 representatives from relevant enterprises and institutions, such as the Institute of Studies for the Greater Bay Area (Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao) and Guangzhou Encyclopedia Research Center, were elected as members of the new council.
The GIUI aims to promote the evaluation, as well as the research and development of the Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation. It also explores ways to build an international urban innovation system with global connections.
