The 2022 International Urban Innovation Leadership Summit and the 10th Anniversary Conference of the Guangzhou International Urban Innovation Award (Guangzhou Award) were held in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, from Dec 12 to 15.

During the event, Emilia Saiz, secretary-general of the United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) expressed that the Guangzhou Award not only provides innovative incentives for global cities and local governments but also provides a platform for global cities to share experiences and knowledge, which is worth promoting.

The UCLG is one of the co-organizers of the Guangzhou Award and is currently the world's largest city and local government organization. It is the most influential platform for urban diplomacy and multilateral cooperation, known as the "United Nations of Local Governments.”
