On November 9, 2022, Guangzhou reported 125 locally-acquired cases, among which 109 were found among people under centralized quarantine, 12 were found among people under mandatory home quarantine, three were found among people in high-risk areas, one was found among people under closed-loop management. Guangzhou also reported 2,430 locally-acquired asymptomatic cases, among which 917 were found among people under centralized quarantine, 1,432 were found among people under mandatory home quarantine, 53 were found among people in high-risk areas, 22 were found in district-wide PCR testing, three were found in fever clinics, and three were found among people under closed-loop management. Besides, 298  locally-acquired asymptomatic cases previously reported turned into confirmed cases. The above 2,555 patients have already been transferred to designated hospitals for isolation and treatment and are in stable condition. Their close contacts have been placed under centralized quarantine, and relevant control measures implemented in key sites of transmission. In addition, Guangzhou reported one imported confirmed case and eight imported asymptomatic cases. And one imported asymptomatic case previously reported turned into confirmed case.

As of 24:00, November 9, 2022, a total of 22,850 positive cases have been reported in the city. These include 6,678 confirmed cases (2,731 imported cases and 3,947 locally-acquired cases), among which 2,355 cases are still being treated in the hospital. There are 16,172 asymptomatic cases (3,659 imported cases and 12,513 locally-acquired cases), among which 11,467 cases are still under medical observation.

Details of the One Imported Confirmed Case and Eight Imported Asymptomatic Cases

The one imported confirmed case is a traveler from United Arab Emirates (1). The eight imported asymptomatic cases are travelers from Turkey (2), United Arab Emirates (2), Kuwait (1), the United States (1), Saudi Arabia (1), and Indonesia (1).

Upon their arrival in Guangzhou, all the imported confirmed and asymptomatic cases were transferred to hotels for centralized quarantine. They tested positive for COVID-19 during quarantine and were transferred to designated hospitals for isolation and treatment.
