Guangzhou took part in the Oct 21 "Joint Response to the Climate Crisis" forum, in which participants shared their achievements in green and high-quality urban development, as well as their experiences in implementing the United Nations climate agenda.
The forum was a branch event of the 8th C40 Global Mayors Summit, which was held in Buenos Aires, Argentina both online and onsite from Oct 19 to 22.
Representatives of Warsaw, Poland, Montevideo, Uruguay, Kigali, Rwanda, and Utrecht, the Netherlands also participated in the forum.
The C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group (C40) is an inter-city international organization aimed at promoting the world's major cities' efforts to cope with climate problems, effectively reduce greenhouse carbon emissions, and reduce climate risks. It was initiated by London, the United Kingdom in 2005.
Held every three years, the C40 Global Mayors Summit is one of the organization's most important events and a major international conference on climate change in cities around the world.
